Bits of ✨everything✨
the start of something new
Hello! And welcome to bits of ✨everything✨
A monthly newsletter brought to you by Ally Case 🥰
To be honest, I’m still deciding what exactly this newsletter is going to be (hence the name, bits of everything). But I figured if I start now, I can figure it out as I go 🙂
I have a million and one interests, a diverse professional background and have lived and experienced a lot to get to where I am today. So we’ll see where that leads us on here :-)
I started writing this newsletter in mid March and now it’s the end of May (oops). I find that sometimes I delay posting, launching and sharing until something feels perfect and quite honestly, I’m over that. If I keep pushing everything off until it feels ready, what does that do for anyone? Are we or is anything ever truly ready? There’s always something that could be better, so why let that perpetual feeling be the reason I don’t start or finish something?
So without further ado, here’s my first newsletter, partially picked up where I last left off. Because how will I learn what I’m doing right and wrong if I never click send? Welcome to me trying something new and figuring it out as I go :-)
INTRODUCTION: To give you a recap: who am I and what do I do? My name is Ally Case. I’m 27 years old living in Miami, FL. I grew up in Georgia, just south of Atlanta. Because my siblings were both working child actors, we spent half the year (or a summer at the very least) in Los Angeles for about 8 years straight. When I was 16, my family made the decision to move to LA indefinitely, leaving Georgia in the past. We all loved LA — this cross country move was one of the best decisions we could have made as a family. At 19, I opted to take my college courses online (business and marketing) so I could join an LA-based startup as the 5th employee. In this role, I wore several different hats. I started with a hybrid role, managing our national wholesale accounts, doing customer service, running the social media pages and managing typical office admin work. About a year in I pitched myself to my boss — I wanted to focus on marketing and PR. My boss agreed and I was thrilled. At 22, I decided to branch out on my own to start a digital marketing agency, Uppercase Media, while simultaneously pursuing a role as a commercial airline flight attendant (to support myself financially if all else failed). When I was hired in 2019 for an airline, I finished my college courses during flight attendant training and relocated to Chicago where I would start my new career(s). Uppercase Media was then an influencer agency and about a year in, I switched my focus to brand-facing, supporting CPG brands with their social media strategies, content, influencers, paid social and more. While I was building Uppercase Media and a full time, on-call flight attendant, I also took on a part-time publicist role for a PR agency in Chicago (shoutout to Knack PR, the best in the biz) AND I decided I also wanted to start a clothing brand which eventually launched in 2022. If you want to see the full process, The Making of Everset, I shared an 18 episode series on YouTube. Here is Episode 1. I LOVE creating valuable content and the feedback I got on the series was super rewarding.
If this intro tells you anything about me, it’s probably that I’m crazy and I do too much. Totally fair 😉 I’ve always liked staying busy and I guess doing a million things keeps life exciting for me. At a young age, I figured that the more variety I added into my life (i.e. the more I try), the more I’d be able to learn and to figure out what I love to do. Because how would I know unless I tried? And if I failed, I’d learn from experience which to me, is better than not learning something at all. Nowadays, I still have a handful of ventures I’m working on. For now, this is working great for me and has been very pivotal personally and professionally.
INTERESTS: Separately, several topics I love in general (in no particular order): business, health and wellness, traveling, fitness, personal development, mindset shifts, investing, better-for-you brands, jewelry, social media, and community building — just to name a few. I truthfully could add 50 more topics here but we can save that for another day. If you’re like me, then any of these topics fire you up too!
CREATIVITY: I’ve been struggling with creative expression recently and though I know writing always helps me, this is the first time I’m prioritizing it (for whatever the reason that we put off things that we know are good for us). As a content creator in today’s world, my go-to form of creation is often short-form video but personally, I need to express myself in more than just a few ways. Writing has always been an important outlet for me and with this newsletter, I’m excited to show up, be me and continue to create valuable content, sharing with you, in a different format. If you get burnt out from doom scrolling on socials sometimes too, I hope this is a refreshing new form of consumption for you.
SUBSCRIBERS: As a subscriber, you’ll be in the know as to what’s going on in my life, how business is going, what trips are coming up, tips and tricks, travel, snacks, wellness, advice, learnings, human moments and everything in between. Everything I know, love, experience and/or think might resonate with you too.
TRAVEL: I recently returned home after a two week trip in Australia with my S.O. (end of Feb/early March). I sort of have this thing where after I’ve been to a new country, it goes to the bottom of my list for my next trip ideas (meaning I won’t visit again for a while) bc I always want to visit a new place BUT Australia? I would go back in a heart beat. Next week even. I LOVED it! Everyone was so friendly, the cities we popped into were beautiful (Sydney and Melbourne), it was a haven for vegan friendly bites, and strangely enough, it kind of felt a bit like home. Sydney reminded me a lot of LA and Melbourne reminded me somewhat of NYC (not exactly but a tiny bit). I’ve traveled through some pretty exotic places recently so maybe it’s the native English speaking that made me feel at home haha.
ICYMI, I shared several highlight videos from the trip (like here, here and here) but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to also share “low lights.” Those things that don’t naturally feel so desirable to share.
I also just got back from a 14 day transatlantic cruise with my mom (end of April/early May). I partnered with Virgin Voyages for the experience and it was AMAZING. Truly a bucket list trip of mine. And it was so special to be able to bring my mom with me ❤️ My mom and I loved the trip so much, we already booked a family vacation for next year on VV so that our family (and significant others) can experience it too. You can use this link to book your next Virgin Voyages cruise and save $$.
FOMO: I was supposed to be in Chicago last month for a creator dinner with Peter Thomas Roth (so cool!!) but I woke up feeling under the weather and had to cancel my attendance. When I saw recaps from the event on IG, I experienced quite a bit of FOMO. While I don’t normally suffer to FOMO, this one really got me. It wasn’t that I had to miss it for something else (work, another event, opportunity) — I missed it to have a date with myself on the couch feeling under the weather. I missed it for a regular same old same old day. That’s what had me spinning. To get myself out of it, I reminded myself a few things:
1) For whatever the reason, I wasn’t meant to be there that day.
2) There’s something else out there for me.
3) I needed to prioritize rest for my body and that’s okay.
Mindset is everything. And even though I’m bummed to have missed it, I know there will be other opportunities to mingle with likeminded creators and cool brands in the future.

SOCIAL MEDIA: Have you been shopping on TikTok shop? I’ve been playing around with it and it’s been fun. The shop tab really does feel like a mini Amazon. What are our thoughts? Are you tagging products in your videos and/or shopping on the platform? Respond to this email and let me know!
QUOTE OF THE DAY: If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.
SHOUTOUT OF THE MONTH: Nikki Gryll, the founder of Knack PR and the coolest boss I’ve ever had. Since the day I met Nikki, I knew that we’d be in each others lives for the long run. Her passion for any project she dives into, her mastery in work ethic, and her ability to connect even the smallest dots into something beautiful has always inspired and encouraged me to dig deeper. She taught me the importance of connection, community and using my voice for good. I’m so grateful to know Nikki, to have worked with her and to now be friends for life 💜
If you have any questions for me, click reply. I’d love to chat, answer any questions and hear feedback on what you want me to share next.
Maybe I’ll add pictures into the next newsletter to make it more visually appealing :-)
Thank you for being here, I’m so grateful for this growing community every day <3
